So, tonite I did the dessert thing. I decided to make a buckle. A buckle is, more or less, a coffee cake with less topping. I made a blueberry-ginger flavored one with a rich creme anglaise sauce all of which is served warm.
Oh, i also made a roasted corn spread for brushetta. It was roasted white sweet corn, slow roasted garlic cloves, and roasted carrots. All this pureed up with basil and lemon juice. Some of this with goat cheese on warm toasted crostini and your mouth sings!! Mmmmm, mmmm, gewd.
